Matemwe Retreat is situated just north of the Matemwe Main Lodge, surrounded by the best beaches and close to the Mnemba Atoll, which offers spectacular diving and snorkeling.

Facilities at Matemwe Retreat

Each villa has a plunge pool on a private roof terrace and a spacious verandah equipped with a hammock. Meals and drinks are delivered to the room or the beach in front of the villa. Each villa has private butler service.

All guests staying at the retreat can use the facilities at Matemwe Main Lodge which include an open-air restaurant, lounge, and bar. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool with poolside bar, guided reef and village walks, dhow boat trips*, cycling*, spice tours* and visits to Stone Town*, Prison Island* and Jozani Forest*. Massages and beauty treatments* are also available. Water sports include snorkeling*, diving* and kayaking*.

Accommodation at Matemwe Retreat

Matemwe Retreat comprises three villas. On the ground floor of each villa is an air-conditioned bedroom, private bar area, and a bathroom with double basins, shower and a large oversized bathtub looking out towards the ocean. The private roof terrace has a plunge pool and sun and shade decks. In front of each villa is a small private beach.
