Robert’s Camp is a beautiful lakeside campsite that offers accommodation in cottages and bandas. The camp lies very close to Lake Baringo, on the floor of the Rift Valley, offering panoramic views of the lake. Access to the camp is a 3 ½ hour drive from Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi.
The camp offers an unforgettable experience when at night the visitors see or hear hippos graze on the lawns and return to the water by day. On the lake shore, slumbering crocodiles can be mistaken for logs. Visitors are advised to take caution when approaching animals especially hippos.

Accommodation
Robert’s Camp is a beautiful lakeside campsite offering accommodation in bandas and family cottages. The cottages are cotts, little egret and heron house. The bandas are weaver, spoonbill, stork and cotts.
Cottages
Cotts cottages are spacious bungalows set in a peaceful garden that can accommodate 6pax in each. They comprise 3 bedrooms, a double and 2 twins, en suite with one bathroom and shower with towels and linen, fully equipped kitchen and a sitting room. All beds are covered by roll-down mosquito nets. To top it all, there is a room safe, shady veranda and private garden. Housekeeping services are provided for as well. Guest bandas adjoin it and can be hired at an affordable banda rate.
Little Egret is a charming lake front thatched cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 sitting room and 1 bathroom with shower and large deck. The room can sleep up to 4pax and 2 extra beds can be added if need arises. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge and freezer and all utensils. There are mosquito nets, towels and linen are provided for. House-keeping and laundry services are available. The cottage has downstairs and upstairs. Downstairs hosts the master bedroom with two single beds, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen, sitting room with two sofa beds, shady veranda with view of the lake and a private garden. The upstairs has a large double bed overlooking the lake and a large wooden deck with a table and chairs.
Heron House is a large cottage on the edge of the lake suitable for families or groups. It consists of a double room, 2 twin rooms and 1 triple. It can sleep up to 9pax. The cottage has one bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen. Mosquito nets, sheets and towels are provided for. There is a large veranda with a table and chairs.
Bandas
There are 4 double thatched bandas each with an electric socket, towels, mosquito nets and linen.
The Weaver, Spoonbill and Stork bandas are built in a shady corner of the camp and they all share the kitchen and the bathroom. There is a barbeque area as well.
Coots banda is much larger compared to the others and has a double and single bed. The banda is adjacent to the Coots cottage. This banda does not have access to the kitchen though it has its own shower and toilet.
Campsite
The campsite spreads out over 5-acres of
land leading to the shores of Lake Baringo. The area is well maintained with
ablution facilities and barbeque areas. Tents for hire are available in various
sizes and can be booked with or without beddings. Camping is usually at your
own risk.
