Safari & Beach Honeymoon Package
Are you newlyweds with a sense of adventure? By choosing to take your honeymoon as a combination of safari exploration, topped off with beach chill time, you’ll have a truly memorable start to your journey together.
The Masai Mara is a vast reserve, with some of the highest concentrations of wild animals in Africa. With such high chances of spotting the big five of African safari:
- Elephants
- Lions
- Buffalo
- Leopards
- Rhinos
It’s the perfect destination to spend your honeymoon in the wilds of Africa. You have chance to explore Maasai culture and take a different perspective on the grasslands of the Masai Mara, too.
In perfect contrast to your ranging across the plains of the savanna, the second half of your trip is set at Diani Beach, south of Kenya’s second city, Mombasa. Whether you want to continue the fast pace and get surfing, or spend your days relaxing on the perfect, sandy beaches, Diani is the perfect beach destination.
Your time on safari will be spent with an expert guide, dedicated to your enjoyment and comfort, with your tour vehicle not being shared. With days of structure and activities available on safari, you can make your own plans when you hit the coast and we can help you plan any activities that you’d like you to enjoy.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve by Plane (45 minutes – 1 hour)
To begin your safari adventure, we will collect you from your hotel or residence in Nairobi, or from the international airport if your arrival coincides with the rest of the schedule. The first stop is Wilson airport, where you’ll take a scheduled domestic flight to Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will have chance to see the landscape of Kenya from above and begin to get a feel for the experience that lies ahead.
From the airstrip, you will be collected by your expert Kenyan safari guide and driven through the park to the accommodation that you’ve chosen. This will be your first, quick chance to catch a glance of the wildlife of the Masai Mara, whetting your appetite for the coming days. You’ll be served lunch upon your arrival and given time to relax, take advantage of optional extras at your accommodation, and acclimatise to your environment.
As the sun begins to lower in the sky, you will be taken on your first game drive. You will venture into the Masai Mara and be on the look out for the famous animals that call this place home, from the big five of African safari, to
- Wildebeest
- Zebras
- Giraffes
- Gazelles
- Baboons
And plenty more. Watch the sun burst into hundreds of shades of red and orange as it begins to hit the horizon before heading back to your camp or lodge.
Returning to your accommodation, you’ll be served your dinner and have time to rest and check out the views you’ll have over the plains with only the moon and stars for light. The first day of your honeymoon safari in Kenya includes:
- Accommodation at your camp or lodge
- Overnight stay inside Masai Mara National Reserve
- Lunch and dinner, no breakfast
- Drinking water, other drinks are extra
Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
There are few things more romantic than a hot air balloon ride at dawn over the Masai Mara. This is a perfect way to start the first day of your honeymoon safari in Africa and will ensure a thrilling start to the morning, including a champagne breakfast in the wilderness. This is an optional extra activity that has an additional fee of $425.
You can also opt for an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at your accommodation. The rest of the day is filled with exploration and wonder as you embark on a morning and afternoon game drive with lunch served at your camp or lodge in the middle of your day.
Ably assisted by your expert Kenyan safari guide, you will be able to track, spot and identify the stunning creatures that you come across in the acacia dotted grasslands. The afternoon brings you a further optional experience: being invited to visit a village of the Masai people. They have lived in a symbiotic relationship with the land and animals of the plains of Kenya for generations uncountable and they invite you to be greeted with traditional song and dance, give you a chance to visit their village and see one of their homes so you can learn about their life, history, and culture. This trip comes with an additional cost of $25 per person.
Dinner is served back at your chosen accommodation, as you take chance to rest up, ready for another day ranging across the plains. The second day of your African safari includes:

Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
Rise early and head out before the sun peeks above the horizon on an early morning game drive. The dawn chorus that breaks the silence of the morning is a natural wonder that must be witnessed.
After your brilliant morning experience, you will return for breakfast at your lodge or camp and take the rest of the morning at your own pace. Whether you afford yourself of the optional extras offered at the spa in your accommodation, or choose to sit and watch the life of the plains pass you by from the observation decks, your morning will be spent in serenity.
Head back out into the Masai Mara in the afternoon and explore different areas of the park with your guide. You have great chances of seeing the animals of your dreams across the vast grasses, and hopefully will discover new animals that you can take home in your memories too.
